Kirk and I met through my sister Cori, who is also know as the 'match maker'. They worked together at the same company in different departments. I had just moved back to KC within the last couple of months after living in Dallas for the last 8 years. One of their co-worker plays in a band and was playing the night before Thanksgiving. My sister Cori invited me to go with her to see them play. She introduced me to her co-workers and Kirk happened to be one of them. As the night went on and on, Kirk and I started hanging out more and more. From there our relationship grew and from our competitive nature we got our first date from a bet we made on a football game. We found out that we both grew up in Independence, MO. Even though we didn't go to the same high school, we ended up having the same pediatrician and dentist growing up. Small world.

Kirk and I decided to take up golf. We both got some used golf clubs to start our journey of learning to play. After months of slicing, shanking, and hooking we went to Drumm Farm golf course to play 9 holes and to, what I thought, was to releave the stress from the day. After 6 holes we walked up to the 7th hole to tee off. Kirk threw out my ball on the ground. I walked up to put it on my tee and there on the ball read 'Will you marry me?' I turned around he was on one knee with the ring and said "Will you marry me?" I ran to give him a hug and said "Yes!" It was awesome because I was caught off guard and was completely shocked! From there the wedding planning began...
