Tour Ruinas Mayas de Tulum

Start with pickup at your hotel, then begin the trip to Akumal in an air-conditioned vehicle. Get fitted out with snorkeling gear, and slip into the water to swim over the Akumal coral reef, which is home to a thriving population of sea turtles (the $10 USD fee for Conservation of the Marine Fauna of the Bahia de Akumal is not included in this tour, and must be paid upon arrival in Akumal). Continue to the Tulum Archeological Site, among the most dramatic ancient cities on the Yucatan Peninsula, with stone fortifications overlooking a white sand beach. Learn about the history and culture of the Maya people, with free time to photograph the ruins before leaving the site. Visit the nearby Cenote Caracol to cool off with a swim in the fresh, limestone-filtered water, then head to a local restaurant for a lunch of guacamole with chips, vegetable salad, meat, rice, and fresh fruits. The afternoon is all about the natural world: follow your guide into a cave that’s bristling with stalagmites and stalactites, then take a walk through the jungle, listening to a forest chorus of tropical birds and animals. This 7-hour tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel
